The efficient use of resources is a fundamental part of maintaining competitiveness for UK manufacturers, by driving down costs along the supply chain, maximising business efficiency and ensuring long-term security of supply of key raw materials.
Resource efficiency also has a key contribution to make to the low carbon economy, through the better management of embedded carbon through the life-cycle of a product or resource.
The Technology Strategy Board’s Resource Efficiency strategy provides a framework for commercial growth through innovation in the productive use of material resources, moving towards a balance between business benefit, materials security and environmental impact.
By joining this session you will receive an introduction to the Resource Efficiency strategy enabling you to consider how the carbon benefits of resource efficiency may best be realised and to contribute to the discussion on how the strategy will be implemented.
John Whittall, Lead Technologist, Environmental Sustainability, Technology Strategy Board will be joined by Peter Maddox, Head of Manufacturing at WRAP.
