Technology Strategy Board Innovate '09
Tuesday 13 October 2009 | Business Design Centre, London
Innovate '09
Innovation in the MOD and SBRI opportunities

Room C

The Centre for Defence Enterprise is the first point of contact for anyone with an innovation with a potential defence application. The Centre acts as a gateway between the outside world and the Ministry of Defence (MOD), bringing together innovation and investment for the defence market. Helen Almey, head of the CDE, will talk through how the MoD engages with business, including how the CDE runs specific targeted calls along the SBRI principles.

By joining this session you can expect to learn:
  • How the defence market operates and the potential opportunities
  • About the Centre of Defence Enterprise and how it works
  • How MOD & Technology Strategy Board are working together to widen access to MOD research funds and attract new suppliers
The seminar is aimed at businesses that may have a relevant technology in defence, small to medium size companies interested in opportunities within the public sector, and Government departments with needs that small companies could meet.

This seminar will be led by Dr. Helen Almey, Head, Centre for Defence Enterprise, introduced by Michael Mackay-Lewis, SBRI development manager, Technology Strategy Board.
